Manifesto - What is SKIZUM

SKIZUM collective, derived from the phonetic spelling of schism, is a break from the status quo, remnant practices of the industrial revolution . We call for an end to the overspecialization of the laboring population in an economically driven society where a humane and balanced lifestyle is not actively encouraged.

Our organizational structure is composed of Principals who serve as project managers of various disciplines, Primary consultants who offer reliable resources and Freelance individuals. This structure gives us the dynamic flexibility to assemble the most appropriate team on a project by project basis with low overhead costs.

Some of our Paradigms
Social Evolution
True change and evolution stem from the transformation of societal attitudes. Too often, business follows the model of a purely market-driven economy, ignoring the power of creating a more humanely-balanced marketplace. We are taking a proactive stance to seek out and employ individuals with multidisciplinary backgrounds. These type of people usually possess strong character, have broad perspective and have the ability to effectively apply recently-acquired knowledge; these characteristics often translate to the success of the projects they work on.

In the early part of the 21st century, we find the ways we live, love, work and play are changing faster than we can comfortably perceive. Traditional values and ideals have given way to an era where nothing is easily defined, including ourselves. The term Generation X represents both everything and nothing. SKIZUM celebrates the idea that everything or everyone does not need to be distinctively categorized and that strength of individual character is to be celebrated and utilized to its greatest potential.

Technological Humanism
Sometimes the advent and implementation of new technologies can help strip us of our humanity by reinforcing analysis while ignoring intuition and physicality. We strive to utilize technology in ways which transform virtual concepts to experiences in reality. We are dedicated to efficiently translating the notions of romanticism and taste in addition to fulfilling the more pragmatic needs of our clients.

Design for Sustainability
No matter what medium we work in, we attempt to recognize the potential impacts of our solutions on the world and the people which the environment sustains. We consider both the short and long term impacts of potential solutions, and thus, are able to make more responsible recommendations to our clients.
